The 2026 TONY Award for Best Play is Liberation. A play about 1970s feminism at the height of the Sexual Revolution, acknowledging the beginning of women’s empowerment. Hookups, Hiccups, and Happenstances, pulls back the curtain revealing how many women took their own actions into the boudoir.
What inspired you to write the book? A particular person? An event?
The story of a meeting between a woman and a man falling under a spell of desire. Would it be the last time for her experiencing this feeling? He wanted to fulfill the emptiness of her soul. Enter the physician setting in motion a betrayal that couldn’t be undone.
What’s the main reason someone should really read this book?
Libido enriching, accompanied by the songs, people, and events making up the Sexual Revolution. Offers insights into people’s quest to understand ENM or Ethical Non Monogamy, before the term existed.
What’s the most distinctive thing about the main character? Who-real or fictional-would you say the character reminds you of?
Being open to hookups, hiccups & happenstance’s. The ladies would say Butch was his own man.
When did you first decide to become an author?
I was asked to write a book about long-care and long-term care financing for an International Association of financial services professionals.
Is this the first book that you’ve written?
The first book is titled: When Caring Isn’t Enough…
What do you do for work when you’re not writing?
I am 87 years old and retired. My wife and I have been married 63 years. We do activities to stay mentally and physically fit.Saturday Date Nights are especially important for both goals.
How much time do you generally spend on your writing?
Jotting down ideas for a third book, however the current emphasis is turning Hookups, Hiccups, and Happenstances into a t v series of 13 stories.
What’s the best and the hardest part of being an indie?
The challenge for an indie writer of romantic erotica is reaching interested readers. Amazon will list erotic books for sale but doesn’t accept advertising for the genre.
Would you go traditional if a publisher came calling? If so, why?
Yes, it would help get placement in bookstores to get eyes on my book.
Is there something in particular that motivates you (fame? fortune?)
