QUANTUM MAYHEM, the third installment in the Quantum Cop series, combines science fiction, mystery, and suspense to create a fast-paced, fun and intelligent adventure.
QUANTUM MAYHEM, a fast-paced adventure that bends genres—and reality!

An entire ghost town, gone without a trace. A ghostly haunting. Bizarre happenings. And then—murder. Physicist Madison Martin clearly has her hands full, but as one of the few individuals capable of q-lapsing, the ability to use quantum mechanics to control reality, the quantum cop is the only one able to solve the mystery and bring the perpetrators to justice.

The third installment in the Quantum Cop series, QUANTUM MAYHEM begins as Martin is called to investigate the disappearance of a ghost town. The empty buildings have completely vanished, leaving only piles of sand behind. Soon after, Martin finds herself haunted by a ghostly entity. The plot quickly intensifies, and it isn’t long before Martin finds herself—and reality—in deep trouble.

The reader follows Martin as she tries to connect the mysterious occurrences and learn exactly who is behind them. Along the way, Martin struggles to balance her feelings for her boyfriend, Andro, with her attraction to her roommate Ben, a cop who also investigates quantum crimes. Meanwhile, she must also deal with the real possibility that q-lapsing is taking a powerful toll on her health. As the quantum mayhem spreads, Martin races against time to stop these quantum crimes, protect reality, and save herself.

While QUANTUM MAYHEM is a fun and intelligent read, it is not without some flaws. Author Lesley L. Smith does a good job of grounding new readers in Martin’s quantum abilities, but some plot points from the previous two novels could be better explained. Furthermore, while it isn’t entirely necessary to have read the previous two novels, this installment does contain spoilers for them—so readers wanting a spoiler-free experience would do best to read these books in order. Finally, the writing is a bit stilted at times, which occasionally takes the reader out of the story. These points aside, the storyline is so distinct and the thrills so numerous that many readers will forgive these minor issues and find much to enjoy in QUANTUM MAYHEM.

QUANTUM MAYHEM, the third installment in the Quantum Cop series, combines science fiction, mystery, and suspense to create a fast-paced, fun and intelligent adventure.
