What is the name of the book and when was it published?

What’s the book’s first line?
To understand the true meaning of spirituality, evolution and awakened consciousness, we have to acknowledge the complexity of who we are.

This book is a bridge to a deeper understanding of who you are, why you are here and why your life profoundly matters. It is a tour guide highlighting what to contemplate so you can embrace the significance of your own self-awareness. This book is an assistant to clarity as the reader explores what the concept of spirituality, evolution and awakened consciousness means to them.
What inspired you to write the book? A particular person? An event?
I trusted my intuition and was aware of an internal yearning to share my awareness with others. I feel being an author is part of my soul purpose.
What’s the most distinctive thing about the main character? Who-real or fictional-would you say the character reminds you of?
The book has many stories in it, to show real life examples of the concepts explored. I think Gloria and Rosalee stand out for me. Many people have discussed their personal stories and how they could relate to this story – the pain of how narcissistic relationships destroy the victim’s healthy relationships such as the friendship between Gloria and Rosalee. They also highlight how Gloria tried to be a good friend and warned Rosalee about her new boyfriend because she could witness the blindfold that was obscuring her view. It is a heartbreaking short story but it also emphasizes the emotional and spiritual growth that occurs when we get honest with ourselves.
What’s the main reason someone should really read this book?
The book highlights questions to ask yourself, beliefs to challenge and concepts to explore.
Acknowledgement is a stepping-stone to exploration. Exploration builds awareness and understanding, and this is the precursor to spiritual evolution.
We can’t evolve and mature without truly understanding ourselves and this book is a stepping-stone into a meaningful exploration of self. One that asks the reader to be aware of themselves while on the journey it evokes. What is interesting – no two people will take the same journey as it is a path created by the reader and the book is a compass that guides. What you discover is unique to you!
When did you first decide to become an author?
An inner knowing made me decide to become an author, and no-one was more surprised than myself that this was my path.
Is this the first you’ve written?
No, it is my 3rd book and 3 more on their way.
What do you do for work when you’re not writing?
I am an emotional and spiritual mentor and use my skills as a Soul Intuitive® to do Personal Development and Emotional Wellness Session: One on One – Personal coaching sessions. I assist people to understand their soul purpose, deal with the stored unresolved emotions that inhibit them from embracing their own authenticity and to comprehend those nagging thoughts. I spend most of my days with my clients, explaining how to come to terms with reality and see a new perspective that makes sense of what they feel, have witnessed or experienced.
I am also a podcaster – Lorraine Nilon’s Insight & Awareness spiritual Explorer – I have conversations with other authors and inspirational people who help people deal with trauma, explore spirituality and emotional growth.
How much time do you generally spend on your writing?
Not as much as I would like, my world has been diversly busy for a couple of years and I am currently going through the final edits of my next book Emerging Awareness and recording the audio book.
When I write, I like to immerse myself in my writing. I lose all sense of time if the writing is going well. I enjoy undisrupted days for writing.
What’s the best and the hardest part of being an indie?
Marketing is the hardest part. I laugh because I am sure I have hit every pothole along the journey but one thing I knew for sure is I wanted a high-quality produced book and I have achieved this with Spirituality, Evolution & Awakened Consciousness.
The best part is the freedom and having no restrictions. I couldn’t have had as many illustrations if I had gone down the path of traditional publishing and I believe the artwork brings this book alive. I am so proud of the quality of the artwork and feel blessed to work with Katherine Close.
Is there something in particular that motivates you (fame? fortune?)
It is a calling, part of my soul journey and purpose, but I love hearing others discussing the concepts in my books and using them to tap into their own wisdom. I believe too many of us are struggling to embrace our natural selves and to feel good about our life experiences. We are here to emotionally and spiritually grow, and if I can assist someone on their journey of self-discovery and recovery, what an honour!
