THE HEARTBEAT by Terezia Kontova is a romance that could also be classified as a fantasy. Children of mafia parents, John and Laura, marry and have a child, Isabelle, who in turn gives birth to twins Martin and Lukas. John works for the US president writing laws, while Laura, as a kindergarten teacher, shows her charges how to do labor. The dialogue is simple, yet without roots in reality.
