Seventy-plus years later, World War  II has never lost its fascination with novelists. in Sabato diVincenti’s SPINNAKER, as indicated by the subtitle (An Endearing Romance Novel Entwined with Suspense and Espionage), a USAF pilot born to German parents enlists as a German spy, complete with disguise as first lieutenant Karl Pfisterer.  As with all intrigues, something’s gotta give – and right at exposure, Karl escapes with love Katarina to London. States-side, family ensues. The real question:  Will son Nicolas follow in dad’s footsteps?  Lots of in-text notes will appeal to history fans.
