A therapist races to the uncover the truth about a particle physics experiment gone horribly wrong before it has even deadlier consequences.

Therapist Alexandra Kraig is comfortable with her orderly, reserved existence, tending to patients in the psychiatric ward of Sinai General. It’s predictable and safe, until a string of unusual deaths throws her career—and her life—into complete chaos. Alex’s close friend Carl develops the same bizarre madness that the other physicists succumbed to before their deaths, revealing a horrifying mystery at the Complex, a secret underground research facility for particle physics experiments. Confronting the past she abandoned and her father’s painful ties to the project, Alex finds herself in a race against time for answers. As a threatening outside force seeks to use the Complex’s powerful machinery for their own agenda, she has to stop the experiment’s impending destruction or face a catastrophe beyond comprehension.

SINAI UNHINGED is a peek into the cutthroat and often shady world of secretive science experiments and their toll on the human mind. How far is one willing to go to discover the secrets of the universe? Is it worth it, in the end, to be able to see things that others can’t begin to understand? The novel delves into plenty of philosophical questions, where different branches of science intersect, where the human capacity to tamper with the fabric of the universe is at odds with risk and ethics. There’s a lot of heavy concepts woven into the narrative, from the immense suffering of the world’s population to the finer details of particle physics. And all of it is explained in such a way that’s easy to follow and heightens the tension of the story’s incredibly high stakes.

A new twist at every turn, SINAI UNHINGED wastes no time in piling up the conflicts for protagonist Alex Kraig, who goes through an intensely fascinating character arc. Although the shadowy villains are a little cartoonish, they don’t detract much from the overall story. The characters and their sometimes messy, complicated relationships are the glue that holds the fabric of the narrative together. Alex’s evolving friendship with a female physicist at the Complex is a bright spot, their combined ingenuity and determination a force all its own. With a relentless pace, unique setting, tense action sequences, and shocking revelations, there’s much to like about SINAI UNHINGED.

SINAI UNHINGED is a perfectly-paced thriller that balances gripping action and strong emotional stakes with thought-provoking questions about the very fabric of the universe.
