Not only is the narrative filled with medical terminology and procedures and emotional ups and downs, it also interweaves the story of a family, pregnancies that go awry, a sometimes shaky marriage, and, yet, an amazing perseverance for finding, if not a cure, then a longer term alleviation for Tiara’s tumors, seizures, and psychological issues. Goff’s spirit of ‘can do’ and compassion will be passed along to readers confronting similar issues.
