IR VERDICT:
LOVE, GOD, AND MEXICAN PASTRIES by K. F. Ripley is a well-written coming-of-age story of parental angst, teenage love, betrayal, pregnancy, birthing, and ultimate decision. The author brings young Melina Abrums to life — allowing the reader to follow the main character’s thoughts and dilemmas with ease. Even with the surprise ending, some teens will find common ground with Melina as they compare their own experiences.
