IR VERDICT:
BUT I DIDN’T SAY GOODBYE by Barbara Rubel, is an important book about understanding suicide and the trauma that surrounds it, using the fictional character Alex as a vehicle to guide the reader through the experience. Suicide is never an easy subject, but Rubel’s sensitive and personal approach makes for a helpful and valuable tool–both for the layperson, and the helping professional. Questions for readers at the end of each chapter are especially beneficial.
