THE MANGY DETECTIVE by R. Klemek is an intensely original, laugh out loud funny book that’s hard to put into a category. On the surface it’s a crime mystery novel whose main character happens to be a cat working as a private investigator. As silly as that sounds, the obvious ridiculousness is actually masking an almost genius work of satire on society, life and the American novel.
