ONE WEIGHT LOSS PLAN, TWO FRIENDS, THREE WEEKS is a motivational tool for people who need people to jumpstart a happier, healthier self. Sí, se puede! -- yes you can, - if you have a buddy.
April Paine and Stacey Wein met in college, and became bosom buddies, life-long friends who continuously struggled with weight loss and body images - that is, until they harnessed the most powerful tool ever: friendship. April and Stacey commit to being each other’s Healthy Lifestyle Partner (HLP) and sign off on a HLP contract detailing mutually agreed upon terms.

For three weeks, April and Stacey will be accountable to each other.  There will be daily check-ins, journaling, weekly weigh-ins, emails.   When one feels weak, one HLP is supposed to call the other.   Reach out.   Offer support.  Together, we can.   We can take baby steps, laugh and love our bodies.  Divided, we fall, we binge, we drown in fat negativity.

This book is mostly anecdotal, filled with tips, humor and positivity.   The course to happiness and health, like love, never did run smooth.   Life is to be lived, enjoyed, and there will be calories.   Stacey and April share how they cope with some of the events that shape our lives, and our bodies:  the fattening birthday gifts;  the hostess who insists you eat the “mostess;”  the family gathering where going against tradition is tantamount to extradition and the dreaded dressing room.

Unfortunately, April and Stacey never disclose what their weight loss goals were, what their exercise regimen was, what they ate, or didn’t eat, and ultimately how much weight was lost over the three weeks.   Our co-authors readily admit they are not doctors and suggest readers consult one before embarking on any exercise routine or diet.   There really isn’t anything new here that you didn’t know.   Burn more, eat less, strength in numbers.   The main message of this book:  The power of two.

ONE WEIGHT LOSS PLAN, TWO FRIENDS, THREE WEEKS  is a motivational tool for people who need people to jumpstart a happier, healthier self.   Sí, se puede! — yes you can, –  if you have a buddy.
