Following find an interview with author Michael Goddart.

What is the name of the book and when was it published?

A NEW NOW: Your Guide to Mastering Wisdom Daily, Achieving Equilibrium, and Empowering Your Nobler Self.    Pub. date: May 15, 2021

What’s the book’s first line?

You have been given the most precious gift—your human life.

What’s the book about? Give us the “pitch”.

In this transformative book, readers are given an invaluable guide to awakening and empowering their higher consciousness so that they can readily navigate their life successfully, happily, easily. While working with this book, readers will be assisted by the warm, encouraging, and accessible discussion so that situations, people, thoughts, and desires are more easily negotiated moment to moment for their benefit. The discussion is informed by my many decades-long study and practice of the teachings of fully realized Saints and Masters. Key essential mystical and spiritual truths elucidate and further the  reader’s understanding of metaphysical reality and realization of their New Now.

What inspired you to write the book? A particular person? An event?

After writing, revising, and revising fifteen articles and eight Q & A interviews for In Search of Lost Lives, I was yearning to write something new. I did “intuitive sussing” word by word to discover the new book.

What’s the main reason someone should really read this book?

To learn how to make best use of their most precious gift—their human life.

When did you first decide to become an author?

When I had just turned twenty and began an experimental novel a  month after I started my junior year abroad as a U.C. Berkeley History Fellow at the University of Warwick.

Is this the first book you’ve written?

This is my fourth published book. I ‘ve also written two yet-to-be published novels, as well as the sequel to BLISS, more BLISS. There was a nineteen-year gap between my second published book, BLISS, and my spiritual memoir In Search of Lost Lives, which won four book awards. Many agents wanted to represent more BLISS, and they all wrote: come back when you have an enormous platform.

What do you do for work when you’re not writing?

For forty-four years, I had a very demanding tax practice, writing fifteen minutes a day and more on Saturday to keep my writing alive.

How much time do you generally spend on your writing?

Now, I spend an hour to usually about two and a half hours in the morning, depending on whether it’s working on a book or promotional writing. When needed, before turning in at night I do “”discovery”—taking notes on what I’m working on and finding answers to questions.

What’s the best and the hardest part of being an indie?

The hardest part: doing promotion, rather than writing something new. The best part: writing what I’m inspired to write without constraints, and being able to choose the editor, designer, et al, who are the best match for me and the book.

What’s a great piece of advice that you can share with fellow indie authors?

Cultivate and follow your intuition.

Would you go traditional if a publisher came calling?  If so, why?

Yes, particularly if my next book does not have a ready hook for promotion. But I would not want to spend a year plus x number of months researching agents and houses, writing and revising queries, laboring over a book proposal, and waiting!

Is there something in particular that motivates you (fame? fortune?)

Articulating the spiritual and writing books that are accessible, clear, encouraging, and revelatory.

Which book do you wish you could have written?

Seventy percent of the book that’s just emerging now, so that I can see what it’s all about and bring it to fruition.
