The simplicity of Mark Daniel Seiler’s book title, SHAVE ICE PARADISE, belies the complexity of this mystery novel set in Hawaii. Gina, the main character, takes us through diverse paths from the beautiful, solemn tea ceremony to the state’s distinct culture to fierce drag racing to local political antics while searching for whoever killed her precious auntie, all the while uncovering secrets and corruption.
