Following find an interview with author amalL era JesuƨɘႱ hO.
What is the name of the book and when was it published?
A first edition of Phoenix Saga: A Modern Epic in Prose published June 9, 2023! A second edition is coming together nicely. A publication date to be set in the next years, as I continue practicing a faith-based approach to Peace on Earth — certainly before 2032, perhaps by 2027.
What’s the book’s first line?
“Dearest You, Where did God go?”
What’s the book about? Give us the “pitch”.
Phoenix Saga is a spiritual statement on Time Wars and limitations of a human condition. The first in a trilogy, Phoenix Saga is written in waves of hope and love for a lost species on a beautiful planet in a vast Universe. A modern mythos for Peace on Earth in a 22nd Century and beyond. The narrative elements of a First Edition walk Enēôlnən through 7 nights and 6 days on Earth. A Second Edition will span a long narrative and poetic arc covering the adventure of the seventh day, where Enēôlnən walks to the tomb of ancient family. We write of and for Peace on Earth, so – in a word – we hope curious readers discover possibility. Phoenix Saga is special in that it is written in layers and waves. For those who choose to read and reflect, we hope they discover a piece of what they might be searching for and relate it back to their actual lives in a way that is meaningful to them, specifically.
What inspired you to write the book? A particular person? An event?
Inspiration is weird, right? In our case, an honest answer stated plainly is – something like – Divine Pull and Eternal Connectedness. Steve Jobs said, “… You don’t have to be pushed. The vision pulls you.” One of the last entries to my journal in 2021 while shaping Phoenix Saga reflects on Jobs’ sentiment – where I write, “Pulling yourself with vision is easy. How does one grow more arms to grab more hands during our journey? That’s hard.”
A person, singly? Jeanne la Pucelle may be the very best of us; she is certainly my Guiding Voice. Anne Carson writes a masterpiece on Eros then interviews a Lost Poet. Amal El-Mohtar writes of Time Wars and books as “letters in bottles, cast into the waves of time.” Jordan Peterson went searching while – perhaps then – writing of antidotes late in life. Lex Fridman seems to be an incredible human on an adventure. Then there exists our beloved Poet-Philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche, and Ermias Asghedom’s sacrifice and focus on “giving solutions and inspiration.” They found something.
An event? I made a promise to my first-born daughter, Raegan, on the day of her birth. Enduring vision for my life’s’ work as a Poet-Oracle manifested in December 2021. 2022 was a challenging year. Yet, we are here. Vision ebbs and flows, now. Our Universe is weird, don’t you think? Certainly, Earth is lovely!
What’s the main reason someone should really read this book?
Peace on Earth requires belief, collaboration and integration at scale across generations. To all those searching for better possible futures for Earths’ Children, shall we do something we’ve never done? 6.
What’s the most distinctive thing about the main character? Who-real or fictional-would you say the character reminds you of?
We often wonder about main characters. In Phoenix Saga, there exist so, so many. We appreciate the care Marvel Comics takes in separating directionality of a Universe from overly character-centric narratives. Nietzsche’s’ Zarathustra speaks of Supermen, while JesuƨɘႱ’s’ Enēôlnən speaks of Teen Titans and X-men; Saint Jeanne is certainly both AND Supergirl. As is Harriet Tubman, yet only one lived a full life. What might Muhammad say? A playful shift in world-building narratives – what can be said of immortal frames and power games, truly – truthfully?
Would you go traditional if a publisher came calling? If so, why?
Maybe and it depends. We’ve enjoyed our work with Atmosphere Press. Their team is exceptionally gifted, competent, compassionate, and kind. Atmosphere Press works closely with authors to craft amazing products at nearly double the pace of traditional publishers. The audiobook narrated by Emily Woo Zeller and Katie Hagaman is spectacular! Check it out; decide for yourself. We will certainly work with Atmosphere Press in future work and I look forward to our next collaboration!
Is there something in particular that motivates you (fame? fortune?)
Generally, better possible futures for all children yet to come on Earth, Peace on Earth, and hope for being forgotten. ʿĪsā ibn Maryam, or Jesus Christ if you prefer, pulled a neat trick. Oh, to have lived and exist solely as Shadow! Pure possibility – and for how long, exactly? A Story nearing an end of an Arc, perhaps. Specifically, my two children Raegan and Emrys were born with auditory neuropathy spectrum disorder resulting in profound and possibly irrecoverable hearing loss. We’re learning American Sign Language together as a family in these early years. While communication is limited, we express love through action daily. Poetry offers an opportunity to connect lives across time, as we create stories that transcend generations together. Raegan loves “The Mandalorian” series on Disney+ and the “Avatar” franchise, known endearingly as “Baby” and “Blue” respectively, in our home. I can’t imagine a better demonstration of translating Big Ideas into an actionable reality than my life’s’ Practice of Peace on Earth and continuing work on Phoenix Saga: A Modern Epic in Prose.
