What is the name of the book and when was it published?
David Massie and the Hidden Underworld and it was published August 9th 2022.
What’s the book’s first line?
CP, the fully-armored Time Cop, sat in the futuristic flying vehicle, which slightly resembled a sportscar, as it hurtled toward earth.
What’s the book about? Give us the “pitch”.
This book follows the story of David Massie, a kid Genius, his guardian, the last time Cop CP, and his crush Rory, whose been stuck in this with David since the beginning. It follows them as they travel through time, back to Ancient Greece to try to stop the Dark Armored Figure who decimated all the time cops and fled to the anti reality.
What inspired you to write the book? A particular person? An event?
The idea for the David Massie series is interesting mainly because it came to me one night, out of the blue right before I fell asleep and consequently I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.
What’s the main reason someone should really read this book?
Besides getting lost in a awesome sci-fi world with unique genuine characters and unexpected twists. I’d say read it because it’s a super fun read!
What’s the most distinctive thing about the main character? Who-real or fictional-would you say the character reminds you of?
The most distinctive thing about David in my opinion is how real he is. By that I mean we see a kid whose not perfect, but super smart , sarcastic, fun loving and learning as he goes down this path. We see David starting to grow up before our very eyes. As I write more and more books to this series I really want to show how far David has truly come. From a scared kid going through reality to reality wishing for it to stop to…. For that you’ll have to find out 🙂 as for who he reminds me of, David gives me slight Harry Potter vibes mixed with a bit of my own personality. I’ve tried to make him super original so he stands out and so that when my future children will see him one day and they’ll love him!
When did you first decide to become an author?
I was in college, it was my junior year in 2019 and I decided to write a epic fantasy story that takes everything I love about the genre, mixes it with stuff that’s completely unique to me and to the genre thus creating my first book turned into series called Corrupted Light Chronicles!
Is this the first book you’ve written?
No, this is my fourth book I’ve written, it’s the second installment in the David Massie series and I’ve also made two installments of Corrupted Light Chronicles.
How much time do you generally spend on your writing?
It really varies anywhere from a couple months to a year but as I continue to write more installments of the series it’s taking me more and more time. This is due to the fact that I just want to make it perfect and make a world that I would love to be in!
Is there something in particular that motivates you (fame? fortune?)
What motivates me is that I want my books to be spread around the world. In doing so I know my books will impact people in a positive way. I know I’ve accomplished my goal if even for a second, my books take people to that incredible magical place or even if they have a sliver of happiness from them, I know then I’ve achieved my goal!
