Knights Templar Treasure Found received a 4+ star review, making it an IndieReader Approved title.
Following find an interview with author Bart Rice.
What is the name of the book and when was it published?
The name of my book is: Knights Templar Treasure Found, and it was self-published on April 1, 2022, on Amazon.
What’s the book’s first line?
Just as Knights Templar group leader Alain Gervers finished his morning prayer in the dark nave of the cold and musty church sanctuary, his head jerked back when he felt a sudden sharp tap on his
shoulder.
What’s the book about? Give us the “pitch.”
Bart Rice, the author of Knights Templar Treasure Found, describes a plausible scenario where the Templar great wealth could be located. Many people through history have had a theory or two where the fabulous mysterious missing Knights Templar treasure might be found. Television programs and books have been produced over the years which surmise the treasure is in Scotland at Roslyn Chapel, in
the South of France, Portugal, and even in America somewhere.
The year 1307 was a momentous time for the then world’s movers and shakers. The extreme religious beliefs and strong territorial passions shown by those from West and their antagonists living in the East
during the Crusades were the prime motivating factors for the bloody and horrific wars fought. Untold numbers of swords, lances, hatchets, knives, bows and arrows constantly pierced the air in various
medieval countries. No quarter or mercy was given to the defeated.
French King Philip IV, the dastardly monarch who ruled over the Templars and their Paris fortress headquarters was shockingly deprived of his planned booty when he arrested the Templars in their
beds on the morning of Friday, October 13th, 1307, a day which has lived in infamy through the ages.
Where could the rumored Templar treasure be found?
What inspired you to write the book? A particular person? An event?
My novel’s direction came to me during various conscious moment tales and stories without any guidance. Though I was an attorney, I did not have any training to write fiction.
Is this the first book you’ve written?
I wrote both a fictional WWII novel and a non-fictional book on Wills and Trusts. I did not publish either book.
What do you do for work when you’re not writing?
I am retired. I try to keep up with current affairs.
How much time do you generally spend on your writing?
I am at my best when I write in the morning hours. When I am engaged in authoring a book, I allocate about four hours per day.
What’s the best and the hardest part of being an indie?
I have difficulties finding and reaching people to answer questions for me.
What’s a great piece of advice that you can share with fellow indie authors?
Keep at it and be prepared to rewrite your own work many times.
Would you go traditional if a publisher came calling? If so, why?
Yes, if the offer was attractive. I am a very curious person and willing to see what is on the other side.
Is there something in particular that motivates you (fame? fortune?)
I believe that for all endeavors I undertake I must have a vision and a goal. Accolades and praise go a long way with me. I welcome fame and fortune.
Which writer, living or dead, do you most admire?
John Sandford, because his many books that I read grabbed my attention. His smooth and rhythmic writing style appeals to me.
Which book do you wish you could have written?
I wish I would have written The Godfather.
