• Understand WHY the people in your life make the choices they do.

As you’ll quickly discover, when you know how to communicate what you need to be happy and respond to the Emotional Magnets of the people around you, you’ll magnetize your relationships. Not only will you be heard and understood, but you’ll understand what people want—and how to deliver it.

What inspired you to write the book? A particular person? An event?

This book took me almost 10 years to write (seriously). My journey discovering and creating the Emotional Magnetism communication technique spanned a decade and it was a rollercoaster ride! I’m amazed and grateful every day for the lessons this journey has taught me. My discovery began with a burning desire to evaluate my pattern of failed personal relationships. I had two failed marriages and was raising my two children as a single mompreneur. I knew in my heart, I needed to do work to understand my motivations and needs for a successful, loving relationship. My insatiable curiosity led me to a decade of study, the incredible results I received from the skills and techniques I learned, an extraordinary love story, and fueled my passion to teach others how to improve their communication in their relationships.

What’s the main reason someone should really read this book?

This book has been referred to as a “self-acceptance” book. People should read the book to truly understand and accept their own emotional needs and then communicate those needs to the people they love. It is truly amazing when you understand why people make the choices they do and communicate your needs. After you read the book and talk about it, you will have more empathy, honesty, and connection in your relationships.

When did you first decide to become an author?

Since I was a kid, I knew there was a book in me. I love words and the power of storytelling. I knew my book would be non-fiction and would help people, it just had to find me.

Is this the first book you’ve written?

Yes, this is the first “real” book I’ve written. Previously I wrote a little “booklet” called BRAND CHATTER, and contributed a chapter to a Mompreneurs collection book.

What do you do for work when you’re not writing?

I am honoured to be the Chief Marketing Officer for the Canadian technology disrupter, CubicFarm Systems Corp. We create technologies for commercial scale indoor growing of fresh food and livestock feed anywhere in the world, 365 days a year. We believe we must grow what we eat, where we live, responsibly and sustainably.

How much time do you generally spend on your writing?

This book was my passion project. I wrote pieces of this book during my evenings and weekends for almost 10 years.

What’s the best and the hardest part of being an indie?

I loved the process of becoming an indie author because I worked with an incredible indie publisher, Page Two Press.

Would you go traditional if a publisher came calling?  If so, why?

I would be open to it. Today, I accept people for what they emotionally need, and, because of that, I love them more. If I had to put a name on that shift in my thinking (I name everything! I’m a marketer), I’d say I’m creating a love train. My philosophy: the more of us there are who want to learn, communicate, and share our Emotional Magnets, the more connections we create, the more relationships we nurture and potentially save, and the more love we create in this world. If the traditional publisher could help create more awareness for my book in new markets, and get more people to jump on the “love train”, why not?

Is there something in particular that motivates you (fame? fortune?)

I share stories about my motivators in the book, some quite vulnerable. More importantly, YOU can find out which of the four Emotional Magnets motivate YOU and understand WHY you make the choices you do at work, home, or play.  Enjoy reading Emotional Magnetism and thanks for your support!
