Following find an interview with author Allen Ireland.

What is the name of the book and when was it published?

The title of the book is Dark and Light Verse.  It was published in April, 2021.

What’s the book’s first line?

“I saw you in the children’s stacks tonight . . .”

What’s the book about? Give us the “pitch”.

In serious and not-so-serious verse the book captures the darkness and light both in the natural world and in the human spirit.

What inspired you to write the book? A particular person? An event?

I was inspired by Montana history, by my own history (as well as the landscapes associated with it), and by my mother.

What’s the main reason someone should really read this book?

If you like traditional, non-experimental poetry that is intelligible and relatable, then my book is for you.
