MAX’S DAY AT SCHOOL is a cute, clever, if somewhat idealized picture of a school in which learning, fun, and creativity are combined. The illustrations are colorful and appealing, though the fancy font looks a bit amateurish and may be difficult for some young children to read. The setting is idyllic and the story gentle and funny, and young children may be left wishing their school was more like Max’s.
