UNFORGIVING succeeds in portraying young Meho’s internal struggle as he grapples with the horrific atrocities he escaped when he was a child. His PTSD encroaches on his everyday life in small ways—gaps in his memories, flashbacks, and triggering situations. Meho’s search for his own identity in the wake of those long buried memories is, at times, poignant and heartbreaking.
