Brendan Le Grange on writing “an action-packed, edge-of-your-seat adventure”

IR Sticker IR ApprovedDrachen received a 4+ star review, making it an IndieReader Approved title.

Following find an interview with author Brendan Le Grange .

What is the name of the book and when was it published?

Drachen, published in late August 2015

What’s the book’s first line?

“Kalev was running.”

I wanted to throw readers right into the action, so we start midway through a nighttime chase through a Finnish forest.

What’s the book about? Give us the “pitch”.

It’s a good old-fashioned treasure hunting adventure. Brett Rivera has spent three years searching for the Drachen, but when she finds it there is no sign of its legendary treasure. And now a cold-blooded killer is hunting her – what does he know that she doesn’t?

Brett is chased in Finland, double-crossed in Tallinn, abducted in Lübeck, and shot at in Bremen as this action-packed thriller dashes across northern Europe, barely pausing for breath.

A shipwreck.  A lost treasure. A hell of a race from one to the other.

Drachen is an action-packed, edge-of-your-seat adventure with a fascinating blend of medieval history and supernatural mythology ” – 5 stars from IndieReader

What inspired you to write the book? A particular person? An event?

More places than people.

While living in Northern Europe for a few years I fell in love with the architecture and atmosphere of the old Hanseatic towns along the Baltic Sea, so when I started to write I knew I’d need to incorporate that into my book.

What’s the main reason someone should really read this book?

Fun. Above all else, I want readers to enjoy themselves while reading Drachen. It’s fast, thrilling, plot-driven adventure that reads like a movie, which is why I enjoy reviews like IndieReader’s, which called it “an action-packed, edge-of-your-seat adventure with a fascinating blend of medieval history and supernatural mythology.”
