THE CHILDLESS ONES is an engaging book-within-a-book novel that alternates between chapters from the real-life of an author and stories from the epic fantasy he’s spent his life writing. The characters and events in both settings are strong and echo off each other to provide a satisfying whole. Although it takes a while to “get into” these separate worlds, well before readers reach the midpoint of the book, they’ll be hooked on both.
