Beauty Marks reads like a gritty, angry Meg Cabot book and will appeal to women wear flats and don’t like shopping–who think chick-lit is fun, but not about women like them.
Bumps is a bad-ass bartender working in Trok’s, a mosh-pit bar in a small town. She is a tough cookie, breaking up fights, kicking out underage kids, but really, she’s had a hard life and it never seems to get any easier. A beautiful man in one of the bands starts to fall for her, and she for him, but neither can admit it so they argue and put each other down despite their friends’ best efforts to get them together.
Meanwhile, Bumps experiences some family drama. She’s stubborn and independent but she has to learn that sometimes, it doesn’t hurt to accept a little help from people you trust.
