Just In: Literary Agents Dystel & Goderich to Review IRDA Winners
In the latest IndieReader Discovery Awards (IRDAs) news, IndieReader and Dystel & Goderich Literary Management announced today that the top six winners of the annual IRDAs will have their books reviewed by D&G with an eye towards signing them for representation.
Now entering their third year, the IRDAs have distinguished themselves from other awards programs by virtue of their panel of judges, which has included prominent publishers, publicists, bloggers and a development person from 20th Century Fox (the IRDA tagline is, “where undiscovered talent meets people with the power to make a difference” ).
Says Amy Edelman, founder and president of IndieReader, “The quality of the books we’ve received over the past two years has been extraordinary. I just felt, for those authors interested in taking the traditional path, that we needed a firm that could help get them the attention that their titles warranted. By virtue of their client list and their enthusiasm, Jane and Miriam seemed the logical choice.”
Dystel & Goderich’s client list includes a roster of Indie authors such as Tracey Garvis Graves, Colleen Hoover, Abbi Glines, Samantha Young, and many more. “We are very excited about this opportunity to partner with IndieReader and Amy. We’ve learned so much from our Indie authors and have experienced tremendous success bringing together the worlds of independent and traditional publishing. We are committed to guiding authors through this new publishing landscape and we’re having lots of fun doing it,” says president and founder Jane Dystel.
