THE WEREWOLF APOCALYPSE

IR VERDICT:

THE WEREWOLF APOCALYPSE is a cute and entertaining take on Little Red Riding Hood, but it sticks too closely to a very old, traditional fantasy storyline (protagonist loses people dear to her, learns to fear her power because of it, is given help, counsel and a magical artifact by a mentor, finds herself in danger, gets out of it with the help of the magical artifact and her innate power, and learns to love and fight with her power). There’s not much creative character development or plot to clothe, enhance, or deepen that storyline, The book is accessible to and enjoyable by young readers, but they won’t find much that is new or compellingly memorable in it.
