Following find an interview with author Terry John Barto .

What is the name of the book and when was it published?

Nickerbacher, the Funniest Dragon was published in January, 2015

OWhat’s the book’s first line?

Once upon a time, a young dragon named Nickerbacher stood guard for Princess Gwendolyn in a tall tower because his papa told him to.

What’s the book about? Give us the “pitch”.

Being yourself, following your heart.

What inspired you to write the book? A particular person? An event?

I wrote the book to be a positive voice for kids. I really wanted to convey the message of a strong family. I feel like the love I have from my parents is what helped me be successful, on many levels. My dad has been a big inspiration to me over the years, which is why I dedicated this book to him.

What’s the most distinctive thing about the main character? Who-real or fictional-would you say the character reminds you of?

His bushy “Groucho Mark” eyebrows. Nickerbacher is an original but maybe there’s a bit of me in him.

What’s the main reason someone should really read this book?

To be inspired to fulfill your dreams.
