Going Nordic

Furniture and fashion aren’t the only Scandinavian imports that I heart. Not since my caffeinated compass was pointed Norse by a reader in London, whose pick is featured below.

Of course being a competitive New Yorker I went in search of a Swedish espresso ambassador in our parts and discovered Konditori in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn.

Their cappuccino was light and sweet, no need to add sugar. They also have minimalist (of course) but comfortable seating indoors and out. The laid back employees welcome the company of readers, writers and scholars.

Scandinavian Kitchen in London is an open and airy café with friendly staff and plenty of seating. After taking a fika (Swedish for coffee break) customers can go shopping for imported goods and produce.
