This is an example of a terrific story in need of an editor--but I hope Darcie Chan keeps working at her craft. She capably brings a menacing, mounting tension to a sudden resolution. Be warned, though: the relentless victimization of women is the theme here, rather than one woman's triumphant retribution, and it is all too familiar.
