★★½☆☆

Verdict: While the story dragged at times, this short novel--the first in a series of true romance/erotica--lays the foundation for promises of juicy sexual interaction in forthcoming volumes.

A blend of contemporary romance and erotica, “Summer’s Journey” begins with Summer’s decision to recover from her recent divorce by seeking the sexual freedom she has always desired.

Her first step is to place an ad on the Internet.  After wading through several hundred responses, Summer finally finds Mark, and agrees to meet him for a drink. After sharing stories of their respective divorces, Summer admits to Mark that she is looking for sex. He tells her he is looking for more and outlines a plan requiring her to relinquish all control. With that he leaves her.

The next day he sends flowers and a link to a private website with a message for her. He again invites her to take this journey with him, promising her “many laughs and great pleasure.”  When she ultimately agrees he sends her further “instructions” via the website. She agrees and the stage is set for romantic and titillating sexual adventures.

While the story dragged at times, this short novel–the first in a series of true romance/erotica–lays  the foundation for promises of juicy sexual interaction in forthcoming volumes. This is definitely adult fare only.

I agree with everything but the “dragged at times” part. Then again, I kind of like getting to know characters and have a plot set up before the characters hop in the sack, but that’s just me. I also like them well written, which is was. It kind of left me hanging at the end, but that was okay. The second one is out, so I’ll be on it shortly. I’d definitely recommend it. ;)
