While strange and unconventional, the story overall was too disjointed and incomprehensible to enjoy. The dialogue is contrived and seemed to mostly serve the purpose of dishing out one-liners and advancing angles tangential to the main plot, rather than representing things that people might actually say in the situations given. The book feels like one of those concepts that sounds good in the author’s head but is just too elaborate and nonsensical to translate well when put to paper.
Re-Deal is only for the most imaginative of readers, and even then I think it’s a stretch to think it has much appeal.
